Modular Power Electronics Group

Welcome to the Modular Power Electronics group of the School of Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, part of the Electrical Power Conversion team within the Institute for Energy Systems. Our research focusses on the design and control of modular power electronics systems, ranging from kW to MW power range aimed at electricity grids, renewable energy, and electric drives.

The group aims to revolutionize the power electronics world by introducing highly modular power converters in their topology and intelligent control, allowing rapid scaling up of power applications, convenient maintenance, high tolerance to failures, cost effective manufacturability, and efficient power conversion for a wide range of power applications in a more electrified world.
